ABOUT USIT

USIT is a group of architects, acousticians, composers, sound artists and sound designers. Started in 2004, USIT works with sound art, acoustic design and sound design of public and commercial spaces. Our professional engagements are based on a creative design process where we form sound and sonic atmospheres that interact with the shape, functions and character of the spaces. Our sound designs are specific for each place, can be changed over time, with different events, and often in combination with light and colour design.

We are also active in technical consultancy, research, development and education at the intersections between architecture, urban space, music, design and acoustics. The members of USIT are connected to the Department of Architecture at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, The Academy of Music and Drama at Gothenburg University, and The University College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Konstfack) in Stockholm.

Sound Design Labs

USIT has access to an advanced sound design laboratory specialized in auralizations ( 3D digital acoustic simulations), and a studio for advanced design and development of sound. In these laboratories we can design and listen to acoustic models of existing or projected spaces, try out alternatives in a virtual environment, and form innovative acoustic-architectural solutions.
